Description

When 'mad love' becomes a literal phrase, it usually applies to this girl, a super villainess in the DC Universe. She was first introduced on September 11, 1992, in Batman: The Animated Series, created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, and later adapted into DC Comics' Batman comic book in The Batman Adventures #12 (September 1993).

Harleen Quinzel, as suggested by both her real and villainous name (a play on the word "harlequin"), is clad in the manner of a traditional harlequin jester. The character is a frequent accomplice and the girlfriend of The Dark Knight's nemesis, The Clown Prince of Crime, and is also close to Pamela Isley, the botanical fem-fatale, from whom she gained her immunity to poisons and toxins, as well as her advanced physical abilities.

A former psychiatrist working at Arkham Asylum, she made the mistake of falling in love with her patient, aka 'Pudding', and soon proved to be just as crazy as him… yet, sometimes, managing to show a conscience and, compared with most of the Bat-Rogues Gallery, she's definitely the friendliest one, even when she's trying to throw you into a piranha tank; not that she'd like doing that, because she hates fish. And she actually tries to be a nice girl at times... but even those times end with half the city destroyed and a car chase involving a war tank.

Happy Birthday, Little Crazy Clown! And remember, never call her a dumb blonde; she had admitted not being a natural blonde.
