Reminds me of that time in Courage the Cowardly Dog where he's trying to tell Muriel about her impostor (who stole her glasses), and she replies, "Oh, Courage, you know I can't hear ye without my glasses."

Which makes sense, considering Courage shapeshifts to get his messages across.
